Using the Alexander Technique in Manhattan.
I just missed the F train heading to Manhattan. Now I know what the F stand for.
The Alexander Technique is great when you miss the F, here in NYC. I was going down the last subway step as the doors were closing. As the train pulled away I said something under my breath and then immediately noticed what I was doing to myself. I was like a playground of tension for an Alexander Technique teacher! This was going to be great. I hardly knew where to start! Yes I did.
The Alexander Technique and your neck.
I started with my with my neck. Just letting go of the extra muscular effort in this area has great power over the rest of the musculoskeletal system so, I freed my neck. I let go of excess tension. You can free your neck right now. Free it again to let your head move up. You don’t know what it feels like to let go of the extra grip in your neck muscles? Neither did I, but it doesn’t take long to learn and, everybody can do it (or undo it).
The Alexander Technique and Stress
When you become aware of stress and tension, and begin using less effort, you start to take back control over yourself. This has great value and benefit for your back, hips, knees, attitude, posture, neck, digestive system and mood. It’s hard to think what it won’t help. Since it’s not the events themselves, it’s how we react to any event, the Alexander Technique can be life changing. The Alexander Technique is relaxing though it is not known as a relaxation technique.
I did as much as I was able to as I watched and heard the F disappear into the filth, and I was alright. At least I was much better than I was, would have been, or used to be. The Alexander Technique helps you instantly relax in Manhattan, NYC.
