How to get rid of back pain? Stop causing it.

The Alexander Technique approach towards back pain relief is unique, as it aims to get to the root of the problem. Back pain is commonly caused by habitually tightening muscles, and compressing our spine. We slump at our computers, slouch as we walk home, flop ourselves down to eat, then collapse in front of the TV or computer unconsciously. A pill, a massage, a drink may all may help for a while, but for long-term back pain relief we need to change our habits.

We may be cause, and the solution, to our back pain.

The Alexander Technique works because it deals with changing harmful habits. These habits include constant, excess muscular tension leading to compression of the spine. This compression can cause back pain. As you release the compression, you will be helping to relieve your back pain.

Notice, and then let go of any extra tension in your neck. As you release those muscles, your head will go up. If you are sitting let your sit bones go down into the chair. You’re going up and down at the same time; lengthening.

We control our muscles, and we can release them. It just takes some teaching, direction, and practice.

Release excess tension.
