Alexander Technique Inhibition

Just Say No to Inhibition.

Inhibition: A feeling that makes one self-conscious and unable to act in a relaxed and natural way.

Shyness, reticence, self-consciousness, reserve, diffidence; wariness, hesitancy, hesitation, insecurity; timidity; repression, reservation; psychological block; informal hang-up.

Hindrance, hampering, discouragement, obstruction, impediment, suppression, repression, restriction, restraint, constraint, cramping, stifling, prevention; curb, check, bar, barrier. A mental state or condition in which the varieties of expression and behavior of an individual become restricted. Anxiety in social interaction, social avoidance, and withdrawal. Those who suppress anger, restrict social behavior, withdraw in the face of novelty.

Just say Yes to Inhibition.

Inhibition: A Moment of Delight

A space.

A moment to stop.

A moment of acceptance.

A moment of joy.

A short meditative moment to be in the moment.

For a brief period you’re a blank slate, written upon anew by you.

You have stopped and are open to directions— Your directions; Your choice.

It’s free.

It’s your will.

It’s free will, arising from free won’t.

Inhibition is a non-robotic, non-Alexanderoid positive space, with nothing to strive for, and nothing to get right.

First, do no thing, and then choose to start an action with release, instead of contraction.

Inhibition gives you that choice.
