The Alexander Technique and Peas

P‘ words seemp to have have an important and prominent place in the Alexander Technique,  precisely why there’ll be a pot-pourri of p‘s permeating and peppering this perfunctory post.

It’s plausible to think the Alexander Technique is about particular positions, poses or appearances but more precisely the Alexander Technique potently provides paths to positively prohibit perennial, perpetual poor posture problems.  My personal opinion? This particular technique pertains more to poise, pride and presence than poor posture, particularly,  though poor posture and pain are possibly the pair of problems people popularly present as the primary purpose they partake in Alexander lessons.

We need to practice patience; a pregnant pause perhaps, to positively pursue a path whereapon the plague of pain perishes permanently; plus a plan to pacify and placate the slump, shlump plop and flop, yet not practice military posture, as this pair apparently produces pain and doesn’t permit poise, pleasure or peace.  Phew.

I appreciated Oprah’s periodical, past April, printing a powerfully positive paper praising the Alexander Technique and, paraphrasing,  pinpointed posture being part of the problem, perhaps causing pressure plus possibly pain. Poor posture problems pale in comparison to what they possibly produce; perhaps a penalty we don’t want to pay: spinal compression.  But please, let’s not panic. Approaching a panacea, the Alexander Technique is predicated on a philosophy of applying appropriate practical principles personally producing powerful improvements in people. So whether you’re performing a prelude on piano, placed at the computer, perched on a purple pillow, playing poker or praying in a pew, the Alexander Technique will provide you with the opportunity for palpable peace, poise and presence.
