Alexander Technique Gold

Alexander Technique—the Gold Standard.

The Alexander Technique is the gold standard treatment for back pain, or neck pain, and the most effective way to improve posture; by far. If someone is experiencing neck tension or back pain, and it is lasting longer than it should, seeking out an Alexander Technique teacher is the very second step they should take. The very first step is to visit their primary care physician and get a check-up. The same first step applies for any of the other healing arts including chiropractic, acupuncture, acupressure, massage, Feldenkrais, etc. Doctors may order tests, blood-work, perhaps an MRI or X-Ray. All of these tests will give information which may or may not turn out to be useful. The causes of pain are varied, and more ‘serious’ issues need to be ruled out. Once the diagnosis becomes a musculo-skeletal issue, Alexander Technique is the gold standard.

Alexander Technique treatment?

The Alexander Technique is not commonly considered a treatment because Alexander teachers are not part of the medical community (It’s “our” choice, and a very long story). The way in which the Alexander Technique treats back pain is unusual in that it is primarily an educational process, though there is a distinct and highly effective therapeutic aspect to the work. It is simple, real, it feels great and it works.

The Alexander Technique process.

The process is quite simple. Alexander Technique teachers show you how to eliminate the cause of your pain while at the lesson, and during your normal day-to-day routines between lessons. The Alexander Technique is a do it yourself, do it at home process. As you apply Alexander Technique principles, your body can finally start to heal.

Alexander Technique teachers use their hands, and teach verbal cues which the student learns to use anytime, anywhere. The verbal cues alone are worth their weight in gold, but the technique is a goldmine of useful information.

Don’t miss this golden opportunity to take charge of your postural habits. When you reach your golden years, you’ll spend them in good spinal health. And, beware of quick fixes; for all that glitters is not gold.
