Alexander Technique Posture Poem
Each person I’m certain feels pain and is hurtin’ as they tense up their necks and have aches in their heads.
pain’s Driving them crazy their aWareness is hazy, they Seek sweet reLief with their doc’s and their meds.
We’re ploppin’ and we’re floppin’ and we’re slumpin’ when we’re moppin’. We scrunch and bunch and I got a hunch-that pain for gain stuff is out to lunch.
Picture yourself on a boat on a river, with picture perfect posture, poise, and a pocketful of pride. Lightly you move with the ease of an athlete, your new-found grace can’t be denied.
Want feelings of healing from the floor to the ceiling, from your head to your toes, how much better? Who knows.
Wanna walk on a cloud, and be lighter than air?
then don’t blame it on your pillow, your computer or your chair.
Cause we’re looking for help in all the wrong places, the answer’s within with some direction and spaces.
Bad news- you’re the problem, good news-you’re the fix, so find an Alexander class-A.T. and pain don’t mix.
Chiropractors may crack us, acupuncturists may stick us, but we have to change and make choices that will fix us. Pilate’s all good, right down to the core, but thinking in the moment will get you there and more.
More peace of mind, more calm within, perfection is for heaven but it’s down here we must begin.
Sorry if I’m coming off like a preacher, but do yourself some good and find an Alexander teacher.
Your back will be painless, your neck will be loose, you won’t need a doctor-except Dr. Seuss.
